SPS Week Ahead

Happy Monday and welcome back from February vacation!

The SPS Week Ahead is a new feature where we will be compiling a list of some of the events taking place throughout the district as well as some important reminders. More events can be found here

Buddies vs. Badges
The Stoughton High Best Buddies Club will be hosting a fundraiser this Wednesday, February 28 at the SHS gymnasium. First, the SHS Best Buddies Club will play the Stoughton Police and Fire Departments in a "Buddies vs. Badges" game at 3pm. This will be followed by a game between SHS faculty and SHS seniors at 4:30pm. Come and support this great cause and enjoy an afternoon of basketball fun at SHS! 


Pajama Concert
The annual Pajama Concert featuring O'Donnell Middle School and Stoughton High School bands will be taking place this Wednesday, February 28 at 6:30pm in the OMS cafe. This is a more laid-back environment than the typical concert and the students will be performing in their pajamas! 


Playoff Basketball
Get ready for some playoff basketball! The Stoughton High boys basketball team is the 20th seed in the MIAA Division 2 boys basketball playoffs and will travel to Hockomock League rival Canton, the 13th seed, in the round of 32. The game will be Thursday, February 29 at 7:15pm at Canton High School (900 Washington St. in Canton). Tickets must be purchased online. Go Black Knights!


SHS Theatre Program Presents She Kills Monsters
The Stoughton High School Theatre Program will be presenting She Kills Monsters this Friday, March 1 at 7pm in the SHS Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and will be sold at the door. Please keep in mind that this play is suited for those 13 and older. Students in the Advanced Acting Studio class at SHS will be performing this show in the preliminary round of the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild's High School Drama Festival at Wayland High School on Saturday, March 2, and you will have a chance to see a preview of this performance the day before their competition!


School Committee Meeting
There is a Stoughton School Committee Meeting on Tuesday, February 27 in the School Committee Conference Room at the District Office (31 Pierce St.). The public portion of the meeting starts at 7pm. An agenda for the meeting can be found here.


SPEAC Meeting
The Stoughton Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) will be holding its February meeting virtually this Thursday, February 29 at 6:30pm. This interactive workshop will provide parents with a basis for understanding the causes and functions of their child’s challenging behaviors. Click here for the Zoom link


New Elementary School Building Project Community Forum
Save the date! There will be a community forum to learn more about the new elementary school building project next Monday, March 4 at 7pm at the Great Hall at Stoughton Town Hall (third floor, 10 Pearl St.). There will be a virtual viewing option available as well. Click here to register for the virtual option.


Scheduling Elementary Conferences  
Elementary school parent/guardian - teacher conferences are Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 12:30pm - 5pm. Parents/guardians can schedule their conference time through the Parent Portal until Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 9pm. Click here for more information.
