Due to the forecasted winter storm, the Stoughton Public Schools will be CLOSED Tuesday, February 13, 2024. All schools and the district office will be closed and all after school activities on Tuesday are cancelled. This decision is based on the local National Weather Service noting that the storm is an all day event. Stay safe in the storm!
The O'Donnell Middle School winter sports teams will be taking over the Stoughton High gym on Wednesday, January 31! Here is a look at some 7th grade artwork at the O'Donnell Middle School. Students practiced observation drawing by looking very closely at little pumpkins. Then they practiced value scales and added value to the pumpkins (again by looking very closely at them on the tables) using both pencil and charcoal. Lastly, the students learned about color theory to choose color schemes for a watercolor resist background using crayons and watercolor.
Congratulations to O'Donnell Middle School 8th grade students Jhayla Sealy (1st place), Colin Thornton (2nd place), and Jason Ikonitskiy (3rd place) for winning the VFW's Patriot's Pen Essay Contest at the local level this school year! All students on team 8B at the OMS recently participated in this annual contest. The Patriot's Pen contest encourages young minds to examine America’s history, along with their own experiences in modern American society, by drafting a 300-400 word essay expressing their views on a patriotic theme chosen by the VFW Commander-in-Chief. The 2023 essay theme was “How are you inspired by America?” Stoughton American Legion Commander Michael Pazyra, representing the Stoughton VFW on behalf of Commander James Kelly, presented certificates and prizes to the winners at the O’Donnell Middle School Wednesday morning. The three winners from OMS are pictured here with Commander Pazyra, OMS Principal Katrina Crowley, and team 8B social studies teacher Caitlin Valair.
